The bid focuses on trade with African countries, building on previous EU work involving Kenya and the Netherlands. The project offers the opportunity to look at how increasing digitalisation can improve regulatory compliance and expedite the movement of goods across borders.
It may also offer the opportunity to look at how increasing demands to demonstrate due diligence may be passed along supply chains. Subject to the views of the Executive Committee, BCA will look to engage in this project if it receives the go-ahead from the Cabinet Office.
