BCA Webinar: The Future? The Electrification of Coffee Roasting

The British Coffee Association invites you to our next webinar taking place on 22nd August, where we will explore the future of coffee roasting and whether electrification really is the future. The webinar will run between 2pm – 3pm (UK time).

We’re delighted to be joined by Gert Linthout from Ray & Jules, and Ben Ireland from Bellwether Coffee. They will both present on the work their respective companies, offering their unique insight into this exciting area of roasting.

There will be an opportunity to ask questions following the presentations – these can be submitted in advance via the registration page.

Ray & Jules:

How can we lead industry-scale coffee roasting out of the fossil age? By a radical improvement of roasting precision and efficiency. Gert Linthout of cleantech pioneer CEE and Ray & Jules Coffee will explain why batch roasting is at the end of its lifecycle, and how large-scale electrification is realized 2 – 3 times more energy efficiently.

Bellwether Coffee:

Bellwether is the world’s first and only all-electric, automated and completely ventless commercial coffee roaster, reducing the carbon footprint of roasted coffee by almost 90%. Roasting on a Bellwether requires no experience or training, and just two minutes of labour per roast, enabling any business to source and roast their own coffee at the touch of a button to save money, increase revenue, and serve better, fresher coffee.

The British Coffee Association:

The British Coffee Association is the national trade association which represents the UK coffee industry. We have 64 members from across the supply chain – from global manufacturers and national retailers, to roasters, warehousers, traders, and everything in between.

Our webinars offer unique perspectives on the key questions facing our industry.
